To explain the newspaper evolution is important to know what the mass media is.
The mass media is maybe the most important clue that has changed the way to precede the information. It is a set of elements that trough them the information is reported massively to the society. It is the way trough which the information is collected, processed and communicated.
The first method of communication that born in the society is the capacity to remember histories that old generations told, and those histories are remembered and retold to the new generations. It was an oral method.
In that oral stage, people have improved in the society and in language. There was a shift when the man created the writing and the media that endure: in that way it appears the writing and printing. The newspaper starts to be very used in the society, everyday news were explained for them in the mass media.
The new technologies development affected and affect nowadays to all the mass media. Computing and the Internet have improved and optimized the production process and the mode of transmission of news.
Is in that decade when the computer becomes the owner of the industrial production of paper. Also nowadays is the same in electronic newsrooms, conducting plates for printing, etc. that is all controlled by the computer.
New instruments have born to obtain information from electronic mail, satellite signals, cell phones and digital cameras among other resources have transformed the traditional print media.
The digital newspaper like an interactive tool
Nowadays, in our society there is the traditional newspaper and the digital newspaper. The digital newspaper is characterized by his interactivity with the users. We talk about interactivity because it offers a few interactive contents, that is to say, multimedia contents (images, videos, texts…) that allow that the reader should participate more actively.
In the digital newspaper we can find interactive tools as the hypertext (links). A digital newspaper has more text contents than multimedia contents. These contents update in relation to when the news happens. So, the structure of a digital newspaper is hierarchic because the contents are arranged from a bigger importance to a minor importance.
The digital newspaper presents readers' letters, e-mails of contact, forums, surveys and interviews. In a digital newspaper we can find access to versions of the diary printed in format PDF. A good thing of the digital newspaper it is that it can store a lot of information whereas the traditional not; and something bad is that the reader has few opportunities to take part in the production of the news.
Advantages and disadvantages of the digital newspaper
The online newspaper has many advantages over traditional newspaper. First of all we should note that online newspapers add a lot of tools that add information to the news. The tools give to the reader more information and understanding of the news. The traditional newspaper only has texts and some images, the online newspaper add videos, surveys, lector’s comments, etc. It makes easier the act of read the newspaper.
Another advantage is the price. Read the newspaper online means not to pay anything. However, we have to pay some money to read a traditional newspaper. So this is another factor to choose the online newspaper.
The next advantage is the new attitude of the lectors. They can give their opinion and discuss her point of view with the other lectors. It’s another think that traditional newspaper can’t offer.
Another factor is the convenience. It’s more convenient to choose what you want to read with a click of your mouse than search the content you want to read on the pages of the newspaper. However stay a lot of hours in front of the screen is bad for our eyes.

So we talk about the hypertext, a more flexible and movable text. The hypertext are the links, links connect you to one page from another.
ResponderEliminarWhen the digital newspaper began, we wrote the text in a HTML language because the first webs were written by this way. So, it was possible to design a better structure of the digital newspaper web. The HTML also made a stylized text (boldface, cursive…).
Users don’t need to know complicated codes to publish contents in the web; nevertheless, we must remember that the users can’t produce the information of the digital newspaper because the information is only produced by professionals.
How are organized the contents that are in the web? When we create a web page, for example, a digital newspaper web, already we organize the information because we show an idea and this idea is learned by the machine and then the machine organize it. When we look for this idea in the machine we find it quickly. The machines are we. So we say that the hypertext is not only to connect information because is more than this, it’s made serve also to connect persons that are sharing things.
So, the Web 2.0 caused the appearance of the digital newspaper and thanks to him we can share the information.
